I volunteer at the Long Island State Veterans Home, located in Stony Brook. I have been volunteering there since October of 2013.

"The LISVH is a special place where bonds and camaraderie develop.

It is a place our veterans are proud to call home while receiving rehabilitation or during their stay as a long term resident, or where they are proud to spend their day as a participants in our Adult Day Health Care Program.

The LISVH is operated by the Health Sciences Center of Stony Brook University.
Through this relationship we are able to provide state of the art, comprehensive medical, nursing and ancillary services to those we serve."

He comes downstairs and talks to me about some of his experiences in the war and sometimes about his family and what role they played in the American Military.
